Set in the delightful countryside around Hexham, Gibbs Hill Farm offers luxurious Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a spectacular setting overlooking Hadrians Wall. The farm itself predates the 17th Century and was a traditional Northumberland Hill Farm. Gibbs Hill is named after the Gib or Hangman’s noose which in olden times was here used to hang sheep thieves.
The farm today remains a working farm with heards of Cows and Calves, Eves and Lambs – even a small herd of Highland Cattle.
The farmhouse itself accommodates up to ten persons with it’s five bedrooms each with ensuite facilities. Rooms are decorated to a very high standard.
All rooms are centrally heated, have Tea and Coffee making facilities and spring water. Guests are served full traditional English Breakfast in the large Dining Room. Home cooking is wonderful and sourced from locally produced organic food.
Gibbs Hill Farmhouse is rated 4 diamonds by the English Tourist Board and is a centre of excellence in terms of Green initiatives and renewable energy.
